New Trail Blazes Way to Puget Sound
Picture a leisurely walk through the forest. As you stroll along, listening to the songs of the birds, absorbing the surrounding beauty, it’s hard to believe you never left your home neighborhood.
At the end of your walk, the trees part and there, before you, is a beautiful sunset, as the sun begins to drop below the Olympics, casting a red glow over Puget Sound. You sit down on the nearby picnic table to take in the splendor, reminding yourself why living here is so extraordinary.
This scene is quickly becoming a reality at Jubilee with the construction of the new Hawks Prairie Trail – a 2.3-mile paved path meandering around the northern perimeter of the community and ending at the rocky beach of Puget Sound. Named after John Hawks, the Hawks Prairie’s namesake pioneer, the trail will be a comfortable, nearly flat paved path and will be open exclusively to residents of Jubilee and Edgewater.
View From Trail’s End
Every half mile along the trail, benches give you a place to relax and stop to chat with friends. Mileage markers painted on the pavement will help you keep track of how far you’ve gone. The path will have a line painted down its middle indicating which side is reserved for pedestrians and which for bicyclists and roller skaters. Kiosks located at the three trail entrances will provide trail rules, indigenous plant information and a trail map. Wastebaskets and pet waste stations located along the route will help to ensure the trail and environs are kept clean and trash free.
Wayne Hammer, Vice President of Acquisitions for Jenamar Communities, noted, “The Hawks Prairie Trail is a wonderful addition to the community and further underscores the active lifestyle of our residents. I have no doubt the homeowners will make great use of it.”
