New park and recreation center expansion planned for 2007

LACEY, Wash. - So many Jubilee residents like to exercise and socialize that the Jubilee Lodge (recreation center) is scheduled for an expansion and a new park will open in time for summer picnics.

Active adults age 55 or better are buying new homes at Jubilee at Hawks Prairie in Lacey because of the fun lifestyle, quality homes and proximity to family and services.

"And the real 'wow' factor for buyers are the amenities - the beautiful Jubilee Lodge, the private, paved trail to a Puget Sound beach and adjacent championship golf course," said Christine Bachman, vice president of marketing for Jubilee's developer, Jenamar Communities. "We're pleased to be adding more room for the residents to have fun outdoors and at the lodge."

Pavilion Park is set to open in June for the exclusive use of the residents of Jubilee. The private park will include two tennis courts, a covered pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms and parking. The park borders the Hawks Prairie Trail, the 2.3-mile private, paved trail to a Puget Sound beach.

An extra 7,000 square feet will be added to Jubilee Lodge in a major project anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. The exercise room and multipurpose ballroom will be expanded, and a special events center will provide additional meeting space. Storage, offices, locker rooms and the library will benefit from more elbow room, too.

While the facilities are changing, Jubilee residents will be busy enjoying special events:

May:   Visitors will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Mexican-theme entertainment and refreshments. Guests also will ride a trolley to tour the Jubilee community and new home sites.

June:   The Olympia Rose Society will host its annual Rose Show at the Jubilee Lodge.

June:   The private Pavilion Park opens for Jubilee residents.

July:   The Capitol Volkssport Club welcomes the public to join their walk through Jubilee and the surrounding community.

July:   Athletes from across the state come to Jubilee for the cycling and golf competition in the Washington State Senior Games. Jubilee also is the site for the Athletes' Reception and Dinner.

August:   Residents will bring their beauties out of the garage for a classic car show. Cars from the LeMay Museum collection also are scheduled to participate.

As Jubilee grows, so will the opportunities for fun. To learn more, visit Jubilee and tour the community - including nine furnished model homes – Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
