Rods, Dogs & Hogs to rumble in at Jubilee
Miss the days when the beauty of a ’64 Mustang grazed the roadways? Want to show off the marvelous machine nestled in your garage? Then plan for the Rods, Dogs & Hogs Classic Car Show on Sunday, August 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jubilee Lodge in Hawks Prairie.
Rods, Dogs & Hogs is hosted by Jubilee at Hawks Prairie, a master planned community for active adults age 55 or better. The car show, celebrating all pre-1970 vehicles, is open to the public. Entry fee is $10 per vehicle, and refreshments will be available.
In addition to Best of Show, trophies will be handed out in a variety of categories. Plus, the first 50 cars will receive a special dash plaque.
Hosting a classic car show seemed like a natural fit for Jubilee, whose residents own a number of vintage models. “We have cars ranging from an original 1923 Model T Ford to a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro,” says Jubilee resident Jim Pringle, who is helping to organize the event together with fellow resident Larry Rosenlund,
Pringle’s 1951 Lincoln Lido – one of only four in the nation, he says – will be shown at the event. Rosenlund has entered two Chevrolet Camaros, a 1967 model as well as a 1969 Indy 500 Pace Car. Other Jubilee residents will show off cars including a 1956 Ford Thunderbird and a 1967 Ford Galaxy.
“The ten dollar entry fee for our show is about half of what similar shows charge,” says Pringle.
Rods, Dogs & Hogs takes place in the parking lot of the Jubilee Lodge, 8487 Bainbridge Loop NE, Lacey; take Exit 111 from Interstate 5 and follow the signs to Jubilee.
